Blue Static Dissipative ABS Cases
To make our rigid ABS-BAS LABoxx plastic containers we take a combination of ABS plastic and our blue static dissipative polypropylene. This combination creates a strong, rigid, plastic box with a unique ball hinged lid design. The ABS, or Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, is a common thermoplastic polymer that is made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of poly-butadiene. This combination makes this plastic much stronger than other similar plastic. We add this material to our BAS plastic which gives these rigid boxes a surface resistivity of 1x1010 ohm/sq. – 1x1012 ohm/sq. and have a static decay rate from 5kV to 50V in < 2.00 seconds. Additionally these transparent blue containers are great for storing small electrical parts and circuit boards that are static sensitive.
