Polyethylene is the chemically simplest of all commercial plastics, consisting of a strand of connected carbon atoms with two hydrogens on two sides. When in a single strand it is called linear polyethylene or HDPE. When multiple strands are connected together, it is called branched polyethylene, or LDPE. The polyethylene used in our small plastic containers can be either high density, low density or a combination of the two, which gives you the perfect plastic container fit and feel every time.
Our polyethylene material in both low and high density forms meets and is certified for the following regulatory standards: REACH, RoHS (2002/95EC), FDA (21 CFR 177,1520(c)2.2), WEEE (2002/96/EC), ELV (2000/53/EC), Packaging Waste Directive (94/62/EC), USA CONEG Regulation. It is also made with no animal derived materials (ASTM F963), and is BPA Free, lead free, and phthalate safe. This plastic also meets the standards set by the pharmacopoeia guidelines and is listed on the US FDA Drug Master File, type III DMF #1572 and complies with the requirements of EN 71-3 and EN71-9 making them safe for age appropriate toys and other juvenile environments. Our Polyethylene hinged lid containers are safe and ideal for many industries including food packaging, medical containers, laboratory containers, toy packaging and several others.
